Amendments to Academic Directives
(Proposed)

1. Coverage
1.1. Except for the students in the College of Medicine, College of Law, and the graduate schools, these guidelines apply to all students of the University.

2. Student Scholarship
2.1. Requirement to maintain a scholarship
2.1.1. A student has to maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.50 or better on a semestral basis to maintain a scholarship.

3. Disqualified from the Degree Program
3.1. A student of a board course who has a GWA below 2.75 shall be disqualified from the degree program.
3.2. A student of a non-board course who has a GWA below 3.00 shall be disqualified from the degree program.
3.3. Any student disqualified from the degree program shall NOT be considered for retention. However, such student may shift to any program where he/she may qualify provided that his/her GWA is within 2.51 to 3.00.

4. Dismissed from the University
4.1. A student who has a GWA below 3.00 is deemed dismissed from the University.
4.2. A student who fails in all academic units enrolled is deemed dismissed from the University.
4.3. A student who has been disqualified from two (2) degree programs is deemed dismissed from the University.

5. Academic Load
5.1. A student must carry a full load on a semestral basis as prescribed in their respective degree programs. In case the student cannot carry a full load due to lack of prerequisite subject/s, the minimum load is at least fifteen (15) units.

6. Retention Criteria
6.1. The retention criteria shall be formulated by the respective colleges in accordance with the prescribed University policies and/or procedures.
